YouTube Live: how to get the Stream URL & stream key

YouTube gives you a fixed Stream URL and a reusable stream key. Semut Live fills in the Stream URL for you — you only need to copy the stream key.

⚠ Platform menus may change — if yours looks different, contact us. hello@semut.live

Fixed server URL for this platform (already filled in on Semut Live): rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2 · backup: rtmp://b.rtmp.youtube.com/live2?backup=1

AI content label

Semut Live shows a "✦ AI Host" label on the video by default. If you turn it off, you must disclose the AI content on the platform yourself:

🤖 YouTube: in YouTube Studio → live stream details, set "Altered or synthetic content" to "Yes".

Platforms such as Facebook & YouTube require disclosure of realistic AI content. If the label is off, make sure you turn on the 'AI-generated' label in the platform's own settings — accounts can be restricted if it isn't disclosed. Terms: Platform Actions

Tips

  • Use a reusable stream key so you don't have to change it before every live.
  • "Stream latency": choose "Low latency" so viewer comments reach the AI host faster.
  • The "Use YouTube backup server" button fills in rtmp://b.rtmp.youtube.com/live2?backup=1 if the main server has problems.

Common problems

The stream key stopped working

If you press "Reset" on the key in YouTube Studio, the old key is no longer valid. Copy the new key and update it on the booking page.

Wrong server

Make sure the Stream URL is rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2 (without the key at the end).

Channel not eligible to live

The channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the last 90 days. After the first verification, wait up to 24 hours.
