What is an AI live host?
An AI live host is a realistic avatar that speaks Bahasa Melayu, English or 中文 (Mandarin) and presents your products live — straight on your own Shopee, Facebook or YouTube account. You never need to be on camera.
When can I go live?
Any time. Semut Live is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, weekends included. Book by the hour (1–4 consecutive hours), or take a weekly/monthly package and choose your own start time.
How does the host know what to say?
The host uses the product details you enter: name, price, promo price, description and key selling points. You can set the order the products appear in for each session.
Which languages are supported?
The host speaks Bahasa Melayu, English and 中文 (Mandarin). Choose the language when booking (it can be changed until the session starts). The host replies to viewers' comments in that language and addresses them by name.
Which platforms are supported?
Facebook Live, YouTube Live and Shopee Live — any platform that gives you an RTMP URL and stream key. Shopee Live is for product selling sessions only.
Besides selling, what else can the host do?
Chat on your chosen topic & persona, storytelling (AI-written stories in a genre, or your own stories read chapter by chapter), and interactive quizzes — viewers answer in the comments, the first correct answer wins and the winner's name is shown. You can also rotate several types in one session — set the order and minutes for each; the host switches and repeats.
Prize quiz or just for fun — who provides the prize?
Choose "🎁 With prize" (enter your prize) or "🎉 Just for fun" (no prize — the popup says "⚡ FASTEST!"). Prizes and giveaways are entirely your responsibility as the seller — semut.live does not provide, guarantee or deliver prizes. You can choose whether the winner's name, profile photo and answer appear on the popup.
Can I use my own avatar / face?
Yes. In your dashboard, open Host & voice → "Upload your own avatar". The photo must be a clear waist-up portrait, and you must be the person in it or have their written permission. Photos of children are strictly prohibited — the person must be 18 or older. Every avatar is reviewed by our team before it can be used, is stored privately, and only you can select it.
Why isn't my chosen avatar available at certain hours?
Each avatar can only be live in one session at a time to avoid accounts being banned by platforms. Avatars are booked together with the time slot — if the avatar is in use at that hour, choose another free avatar or another time. For packages you can change the host for the clashing dates only.
Why do I need photos from several angles?
The AI uses all your product photos as references when it creates scenes of the host holding the product. More angles (front, side, back, label/logo close-up and in use) = more accurate shape, colour and text. A front photo on a white background matters most; a label close-up is important for beauty, food and health products. You can upload up to 10 photos per product.
Why are night sessions more expensive?
Evenings are peak shopping time, so night slots are in higher demand. Daytime rates are better value if you want to stay live longer.
Will viewers know it's AI?
Yes. Every layout shows a "✦ AI Host" (Malay "Hos AI", 中文 "AI主播") label — in line with platform guidelines, and it builds trust with buyers.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes, but there are no refunds. Cancel at least 24 hours before the session and you get a Replacement Slot: the same hours in the same time band (Day/Night), valid 90 days, to book again any time. For packages, the session's hours are returned. Less than 24 hours before the session, the booking is forfeited. If a session fails because of a problem on our side, a Replacement Slot is given automatically. Use it when booking at the Review & Preview step. Full policy: /terma#pembatalan.
Can I change a session's date or time?
Yes. Open the booking → "Change date/time" at least 24 hours before the session, up to 2 times per booking. Duration, products, scenes and layout stay the same; capacity and host are re-checked. For packages each session is moved individually. If the new time is more expensive the difference is charged; if cheaper, nothing is refunded.
My product comes in several colours or sizes. What do I do?
Add "Variants" in the product form (e.g. Black, Grey, Light Grey or S, M, L). Each variant can have its own price, stock and photos. AI scenes are generated for the chosen variant, and during the live you can press "Switch variant" — the host and the product bar (name & price) follow.
Can I try before booking?
Yes. Every account gets one free "10-minute test session": your AI host sells your products in a private preview (not broadcast to any platform). Open My bookings → Test session.
How do I pay?
Online through ToyyibPay with FPX (online banking with all major Malaysian banks). You pay exactly the listed price — no extra charges. Your booking is confirmed automatically once the payment succeeds, and a receipt is emailed to you.
Can I see my host before paying?
Yes. In the "Review & Preview" step (or on the booking page), press "▶ Watch live preview" to watch your host live for 3–5 minutes right inside semut.live with your latest settings (nothing is broadcast to any platform). The host warms up for about 1–2 minutes first; if the GPU is busy, the expected start time is shown before you press it. Optional: "Test connection to Facebook/YouTube" sends a test stream to your RTMP URL & stream key — do not press "Go Live" if you do not want it public. These tests are free (limit 2 per account).
Can the host read and answer viewers' comments?
Yes — the host reads comments, answers them and says viewers' names. A stream key alone is not enough: open "Platform connections" in the dashboard and connect a Facebook Page or YouTube channel (the official way — log in and allow read access). You can turn "Reply to comments" and "Auto-promote" on or off at any time, including during the live, and turn off "Read & answer comments" per booking. Answered comments stay visible on the booking page for 30 days.
Do you have discount codes?
Discount codes are given during promotions or to specific customers. If you have one, enter it at the "Review & Preview" step when booking (or on the payment page before paying) and press "Apply" — the discount and new total appear right away. Each code has its own conditions, such as an expiry date, a minimum order or usage limits.
How do I get a stream key?
Every platform has a "streaming software" menu that gives a server (RTMP) URL and a stream key. YouTube: YouTube Studio → Create → Go live → Stream tab. Why live accounts get banned — counterfeits & copyright
Live platforms (Shopee, Facebook and YouTube) block or close accounts that sell counterfeit/replica goods ("grade A", "1:1", "inspired by", "dupe"), unauthorised branded goods, licensed characters, pirated content or prohibited items. Only sell genuine goods or goods you have the right to sell. Health/supplement products can't claim to cure disease and need KKM/MAL registration where relevant. Why does the host sometimes start a little late?
If your session starts right after another customer's session, the host is usually ready within a few seconds — up to ~2 minutes in some cases (a 'starting soon' card is shown).
Is my stream key safe?
Your stream key and RTMP URL are stored encrypted and are only decrypted by the live server while your session is running.
Facebook: why can't viewers see my live (the stream key is correct)?
With a Facebook stream key you have to press "Go live" yourself. At session time semut.live starts sending video first; open Facebook Live Producer and, when the preview appears there, press "Go live". Facebook only allows "Go live" once the stream is connected. Easier: connect your Page under Platform connections and choose "Auto (recommended)" — semut.live creates the live itself, with no stream key and no "Go live" step.
Why do real lives need my own unique avatar?
So your host is truly yours — no other shop uses the same face (some platforms like Shopee don't like the same AI host appearing on many accounts). Stock avatars are starting styles for demos and previews. In "My avatars", pick a stock style or generate from scratch: 4 candidates per round, free. Choose and confirm the one you like — or upload your own photo.
How much does a unique avatar cost?
1 unique avatar is included with every account, and generating candidates is always free (daily round limit). Extra avatar slots are RM50 one-time. Once you confirm an avatar, replacing it costs RM20 — the old avatar is retired and reserved for you, never reused by anyone.
